Island Art for Giving
Call Out for Artists
We would like to invite you to take part in our
‘ISLAND ART for GIVING’ exhibition
at Talla na Mara Gallery
in June 2020.
We are asking that you please consider donating a postcard sized piece of your original artwork which will be mounted, framed and exhibited at our fundraising exhibition.
The donated artwork will be sold as a fundraiser in aid of Bethesda Hospice and the West Harris Trust Beach Access Fund through which we wish to purchase a beach accessible wheelchair, for use by both locals and visitors to the area.
Artwork will also be exhibited in an online gallery so that it is accessible to anyone wishing to buy a beautiful original miniature masterpiece in aid of our chosen charities.
All work will be sold at the same affordable price although purchasers are welcome to make additional donations. In order to ensure the maximum benefit to our chosen charities we hope to keep our costs to a minimum and are therefore very grateful to Gill Thomson of Harbour Print, who has kindly offered to mount and frame all pieces of artwork. Talla na Mara will also waive commission on sales.
This will be a great opportunity to promote your own work and, at the same time, raise funds for worthy causes here on Harris and Lewis. All contributing artists will be acknowledged throughout the exhibition and online and you may provide your contact details/ website/ details about your art practice which can be used online.
2020 will be Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters so this is a suggested theme for the exhibition.
Deadline for submissions:
Work should be sent in by 30th April 2020
We can accept up to three pieces of work from you
