Applications are now open for the gallery space at Talla na Mara, information on the application process below.
If you are thinking of submitting an exhibition proposal to us, here are some helpful recommendations before sending us your application.
At Talla na Mara, we look to promote and celebrate local and emerging artists and also those from further afield whose work features the Isle of Harris. This means we actively research and select the artists and exhibitions that we feel contribute to the ethos and mission statement of the organisation and our programming principles.
The exhibitions programme is established up to three years in advance, however we are always interested in receiving expressions of interest from individuals or agencies for exhibitions with us here at Talla na Mara.
HOW TO PUT TOGETHER A PROPOSAL
Your proposal should include a brief one page description indicating the type of work you plan to exhibit, some information about the work itself (including dimensions, materials, and any special hanging or display requirements), and a selection of images of the proposed work itself. An Artist CV including exhibition history must be included in the proposal, as well as contact details.
THE EXHIBITION SPACE
Before submitting an application, it is worth being aware of the space available at Talla na Mara and the type of work we will accept.
The gallery is within the reception foyer of the building and comprises 3 walls measuring approximately 3.3m, 3.5m and 4m as shown in the image below. Artwork is to be wall mounted and compatible with the below hanging system.
Please note that we do not accept additional merchandise such as cards, calendars, placemats etc, except for prints for which we have a print cradle available for use.
SENDING IN YOUR APPLICATION
All applications should be sent to admin@westharristrust.org.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
