The drama of Ellis O’Connors canvases was palpable as she begun to fill the foyer gallery with powerful Hebridean landscapes in preparation for her exhibition opening, capturing the beauty and foreboding nature of the elements.

The turquoise of the Nisabost seascape from the glass fronted windows echoed through the blue-green brushstrokes which spill out from Ellis’s dark and sometimes moody oil paintings.

Refreshments and canapes were readied as the gallery welcomed a small but interested crowd of art lovers. Conversation flowed as topics lapped over one another in waves between art, technique, environment, experience and community.

This stunning work is still able to be viewed at Talla Na Mara until the end of September 2018.
